How long does it take for baby ducks to grow up? ›

No one can argue about baby ducklings being irresistible. Unfortunately for ducklings, their care becomes more and more difficult for most people as the they grows older. Ducklings are fully grown in about 30 days. They require a long-term commitment from their owner, as they can live 10 years or longer.

By now the ducklings are partially feathered. Sammy the Pekin Duck has the most feathers. Her cute yellow body has slowly turned white as her baby fuzz is replaced by white feathers. Her wings still have a ways to go before they are fully covered.

Chick starter crumbles till 6 weeks old, grower crumble from 6 to 16 weeks, layer pellets from 16 weeks on. These manufactured feeds give the birds a properly balanced diet and need to be available to them at all times.
